Hey Gus, you said you love Chicago, so I was wondering if there would ever be an event or meet & greet here anytime soon!

I've recently begun to travel the country much more than ever. Of all the places in the continental US you've traveled to, what would you say is your favorite city or destination in the country?

      Answered: Jun 27, 2016

Love Chicago but don't make it out there very often. I'm more of a West coast fan than an East coast fan. I like San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Las Vegas. Really depends on what you're looking to do.

I spent the last week in LA for a couple of different projects. I started the week helping out The Know with E3 coverage. We did a couple of streams on Sunday from one location then on Tuesday we moved to the actual E3 show floor to continue our coverage from the show itself through Thursday. I can't stress enough how pleased I am with everybody who pitched in to make the E3 streams a success. The crew was excellent and did an excellent job making use of a super tight space for our set and interviews. Big shout out to them because they were always there before I showed up and they always stayed after I left (actually I think I beat them in Thursday morning by about 1 minute). Ashley did a great job coordinating all our schedules and lining up developers for us to chat with. Eddy and the rest of the gang back in Austin were awesome at getting us background info on specific games and developers so we actually really knew what we were talking about. I was super proud to be part of that team and all the people who were behind the camera really helped those of us on camera shine extra bright (except the makeup lady, she kept my forehead from shining under the lights).

After E3 wrapped I headed over to Hollywood to meet up with the events team for Let's Play Live which happened on Friday. It was really awe-inspiring to be putting on an event in the Dolby Theatre and they were great hosts. All the on stage crew from the Let's Play family were absolutely hilarious on stage. I saw one of the attendees posted a gallery of images which you can check out here: http://imgur.com/a/doH6V

The crew really worked hard to make sure the show went off with no hitches. Adam Baird had a crazy look in his eyes but he managed to help bring everything together. The events team led by Bethany coordinated a ton of moving parts and helped execute an unforgettable show.

I feel really lucky to work with such talented and driven people who are willing to give their job everything they have. Many hours of sleep were lost last week but I think in the end that it was all worth it. I hope you guys enjoyed our E3 coverage and that if you were in LA that you were able to join us at Let's Play Live.

      PS

This doesn't even cover the work I wasn't involved in like Camp Camp and Day 5, both of which are incredible and everybody should watch.

I could totally live in Australia, New Zealand, or Japan.

Every week I have a huge list of news and potential topics to talk about on the RT Podcast. I usually barely scrape the surface of my list and as time goes on I will remove a lot of my older topics. Instead of just deleting these topics forever, would there be interest in me making a journal every now and then of topics that we never got around to discussing on the podcast?

      Hello Gus!

A While ago I sent you a message telling you about my new channel I set up, called ‘Do Over Gaming’. I only had the intro video up so logically I didn’t expect a response. After a long month of waiting for my tripod to come in, I finally have something to actually show you!

I have finally finished the first episode of ‘Do Over Gaming’ on Watch Dogs. Our channel focuses around games that received a lot of negative criticism at launch, and we take a look back at them to see if they managed to fix themselves. Most people will skip on a game when the reviews are bad, but what they usually never see is that reviews release date. With patches being common place in today’s gaming world, I thought it necessary to do this.

Your channel, among others, is what influenced me to start this, and because of that I am now motivated to join the cause! I've been working my butt off trying to get this video out there so everyone can see it!

Down below I’ve linked the video, I've received a lot of positive, constructive criticism from people such as Totalbiscuit, and really want more feedback so I can further improve my channel!

I’d appreciate any feedback, negative or positive, about the video! This one episode cultivates the years of experience I’ve had with video creation and I really do think that it was a good showcase of what I can do given the limited hardware/budget I had!

I realize this isn't typically the kind of videos you personally create, but I figured I would send you it just in case!

Hi, Gus. My name is James Miller and i entered my project into the BestDayEver program, but i wish i could explain more about it. It's an animated series (inspired by RWBY) about teenagers who acquire powers and use them to protect their city from others like them. i have 5 seasons planned and a couple specials. i'd upload it to youtube weekly per season. Is there a way i could send you the document that has the episode list? If you have seen this message please respond

      Hey Gus,

I was listening to podcast 316 and you guys were talking about how our bodies lose weight.

The body, when working out increases its metabolic processes (burns more calories) to meet the energy demands of the body. When your body starts to burn calories you make what’s called ATP (energy units in the body) from the use of glucose (sugar) and oxygen. When you put these into the system, the process isn’t 100% efficient in breaking down these ingredients for energy. The excess waste is water, CO2, and heat. That’s why you breath faster when working out, you are trying to bring in more fuel (O2), get rid of more waste (CO2 and heat). Your body then sweats to cool itself because the heat increase could actually hurt your cells (think of the coolant in a radiator).
That brings me to fat. Think of fat as stored sugar (a week comparison, but it works). Your body breaks down fat into usable fuel, fat is basically a storage tank for excess fuel anyway. So, when your body starts to work out, the usable sugar is lost really soon, which means that the body must catch up to keep up production of energy. You actually get WAAAY more energy from burning fat than burning sugar. So, when you are burning fat, it gets converted to the same products as sugar metabolism: CO2, water, energy, and heat.

Our bodies, in general are stuck in “caveman mode†in that we are always prepping for times of shortage by storing as much energy as possible, that’s why we are getting more fat as a nation, there’s just not enough saber-tooth tigers to run away from and too much fuel lying around.

TLDR: Your body’s an engine, it puts in fuel + air and releases heat, CO2 and water as a byproduct. Your weight loss comes from the heat energy lost as well as the CO2 exhaled.

      I hope this helped!

      Sincerely,
      TunaSub14

Gus, was a long time follower of the podcast for the first 200 episodes or so but I've fallen behind since I started college and I'm hoping to catch up this summer but I remember it being mentioned before about wondering how stuff like blowing into a Nintendo 64 cartridge to get it to work when there was dust in it and stuff like that spread across the world to become common knowledge, I'm not even quite sure if it was you that said. I found out today it's called cultural epidemiology and it's mentioned how it works in this article form IFLS to do with anti-vaxxers. Don't even know if you'll see this but I hope you enjoy the read if you do!

OK, so a plane on a treadmill would takeoff regardless of the treadmill, because the wheels on a plane do not provide any thrust or assist in movement besides being a wheel. The way an airplane moves is through the thrust provided by the propeller or jet engine moving air over the wings. A treadmill would have no way to act any force upon the plain besides a more significant amount of friction between the wheels and the ground that would be utterly insignificant to this movement..

      However!

to re-create the effect you described would require a wind tunnel that goes at the same speed that the engines cycle air, so a giant fain would act as a treadmill for an airplane.

As per the question of "can you see something a lightyear away?" Short answer no because the telescope needed to see that image would be impossibly large.

      Here's the math:
I calculated the possibility of seeing a mirror a lightyear away, using a telescope from Earth.

The surface of the lens of the telescope would need to be about 170 million kilometres wide - that's 13,2 million times wider than the Earth.

This is all assuming that we're seeing an image on a 60in display - which would also have to be interpreted by a computer hooked up to another telescope with a lens that's 170 million km wide to to focus the image.

So RT fans who live in Austin not only spent the least on attending Let's Play Live, but also receive an RTX discount on top of that (where, again, they'll spend the least to attend since they don't need to book a hotel or travel arrangements)? It just seems odd that non-Austin RT fans spend more money to attend your events and their reward is nothing whereas Austin-based RT fans spend very little by comparison and are rewarded with a discount for events that are held in their city of residence.

Shouldn't you make a low income ticket option, an international option, a group option, or even just a raffle for cheaper tickets rather than giving the discount basically to the fans who live closest to you? All of those options I listed are utilized by other events, expos, and festivals and it seems like if RT is expanding their own festival then they should think more about their fanbase as a whole and not just those that live in their backyard.

      Dear Gus,

Hello, my name is Evan, and I've been watching Rooster Teeth/AH content for around two years now. I'm in High School, and it's been some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen come off of the internet, albeit I've not been there for much of the ride, and am still discovering many pieces of content. I'd just like to say thank you for inspiring me to be a writer. Although this is more likely one of the most useless careers one could enter, I'll be unsuccessful for a while and accept it, I get really excited by the idea of creating new worlds and stories. I started looking into writing because I thought maybe one day I'd get lucky and be noticed by you guys (but writing isn't technical knowledge and doesn't put out new seasons of RWBY faster). Because of Rooster Teeth, I've been sharpening my dim wit and have started writing, and at the risk of sounding repetitive, again, thank you.

      www.sincerely.com,

      Your Fan, Evan.

Gus, on the RT podcast this week the question "have you ever seen the end of a rainbow" immediately reminded me of flying. On humid days in an airplane if you look away from the sun, in some cases you can see a full rainbow, which forms a circle with your shadow in the center. I’m curious what was the point of that question and was there a story behind it?
