It seems to me that the main reason people in the "hardcore" gaming community would get VR is to gain a "competitive edge". Specifically in online shooters. Games on the source and Unity 4 engine seem to be the majority in the "hardcore" category from what I've seen so far. The unanswered question i have is...Does VR give those players a competitive advantage? if using VR makes you a worse payer than you are without it, will people still adopt? I love the idea of VR but if i get less kills it would really make me reconsider using VR for this gaming format. I don't have any experience if FPS VR. Can anyone shed any light? I can see the advantages in other areas but i feel like the "competitive edge" plays a big part in early adoption. such as with gaming mouses, 144hz monitors etc...all thoughts welcome.
